Ka Tsun Ting

I offer mindfulness supervision in Cantonese.

I am a clinical psychologist, in accredited register, practicing in Hong Kong. I work in a public hospital, supporting people with depression, anxiety, psychosis, trauma, and addiction. I have delivered Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) since 2014; the transformation I observe in participants inspire me to extend mindfulness to other clinical populations. I am particularly drawn to its application in psychosis and addiction. My training in trauma-focused approaches (i.e. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Internal Family System, and Somatic Experiencing) together with trauma-sensitive mindfulness, equips me to teach safely to those with lied experience of trauma.

My mindfulness journey began during undergraduate studies under Prof. Winnie Mak. In 2010, I joined a mindfulness program led by Dr. Helen Ma; her embodied presence moved me deeply and deepened my own practice. I am grateful to have trained as an Apprentice Trainer under Oxford Mindfulness mentors in 2017-18, and since 2023 I have mentored on the 12-month MBCT Teacher Training Program in Hong Kong. I also serve on the Research and Training team of the CUHK Thomas Jing Centre for Mindfulness Research and Training, contributing to research projects and services focused on mindfulness for individuals with addiction.

I feel privileged to join Mindfulness Network and honored to support the next generation mindfulness teachers alongside experienced colleagues.

Personal Practice

I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn and practice mindfulness. It sustains me through daily challenges and helps me savor life’s beauty. Alongside regular daily practice, I attend silent retreats and remain thankful for the guidance of teachers such as Thich Nhat Hanh, Bhikkhu Analayo. I have also completed short courses on Buddhism at Chi Lin Nunnery, a Buddhist temple in Hong Kong, to deepen my understanding of the Buddhist meditation tradition.
